These 2 young adults were outside for the first 4 months. They had it pretty rough living outside they were babies of a feral mom. They did not learn to socialize with people except for the person that was feeding them. They would hang out on her porch and “occasionally” she could give them a little scratch or two.
The care ... taker for these 2 beauties did not want them to spend their entire lives outside feral like their mother. As a part of a “Rescue Project” these 2 were brought into my home.
They liked affection right away but were totally out of their element being inside. I dedicated one of my bedrooms to these 2 babies. I gradually gave them more space and more space until they were able to have the entire room and not avoid me or hide.
Now if there is a big change in the room or the thing they love most the vacuum they do run into a scratching house to hide.
BUT when I am feeding them I can pet them. When I go in and sit down on the floor they both come right to me and crawl into my lap for attention and just purr! They have beautiful soft silky fur.
It is a really good thing we got them in because the gray girl has some weakness in her back legs. She would have really struggled to survive as an outside cat especially in Wisconsin winters.
They need a home with no small children. They have seen a dog but would be better in a home without a dog too. They will need to have a room or a space for themselves for a while.
They will form a VERY STRONG bond with their caretaker and once they trust you they will be bonded to you for life!
They will need someone that will work with them and be patient. They will not come right out of the carrier and act like a kitten that was luckily enough not left outside for the first few months of their lives.
They are totally different after being in my home for a couple of months. They don’t look afraid all the time. They don’t gobble down their food because they don’t know when they will get food again.
They will need to be adopted together. All they had for so long is each other. They are very bonded to each other as you will see in some of their pictures
Most people will not want kittens that are not “perfect” right out of the gate, but I do believe the right home has to be out there for these 2 wonderful babies. The time and love put into these babies will pay off when their entire world revolves around you… the person they can trust… the person that feeds them… the person that gives them attention!!!
