Meet Nella

Nella appears to be an Australian Cattle Dog/Heeler mix who is 7 months old, weighs about 20 pounds and was rescued from the Memphis Animal Shelter. Her medium slightly wavy glossy coat is almost all black, except for typical Heeler blue ticking on her feet, chin and chest, with a little white tip at the end of her tail. She is intelligent and high energy, so not a good fit for either an apartment nor a home with small children or cats. She would be a great running buddy, or candidate for advanced training. She is a dog who needs a job! She loves to play, and would be a good companion to another dog with a similar energy level. She is spayed and heart worm negative, with all her vaccinations. Preference will be given to someone with prior breed experience; a record of excellent care for current or prior pets is a must. Her adoption fee is $150.

AN ADOPTION FEE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS PET.

If you are interested in adopting, have a look at our adoption website, read the online adoption agreement, complete the online adoption application, and submit it. Unless otherwise specified above in the dog's bio, adoption fees are $150.

If you are unable to adopt at this time, you may sponsor the care of this pet.

We adopt dogs from Memphis Animal Shelter when we can. The shelter has an 83% euthanasia rate, one of the highest in the country. Unfortunately, any dog coming from Memphis Animal Shelter, and most other shelters for that matter, will have been in contact with contagious illness. Even though the dogs have been in foster care and appear to be in good health, they may become stressed when changing environments and exhibit signs and symptoms of illness. If you have other pets, they need to be up to date on vaccines before bringing a shelter dog into your home. We will take the adopted animal back, but we are not responsible for your other animal's vet care. We always disclose where the dogs have come from. Please ask for any information about the dogs and exercise due caution if you have immunocompromised animals.
