Meet Shadow (OPIN)
ADOPTED BY GABY DECEMBER 2013!
SHADOW IS NOT AT THE STAMFORD ANIMAL SHELTER, HE IS IN OPIN'S FOSTER PROGRAM. CONTACT INFORMATION IS BELOW.
It was hard to tell just what breed Shadow was when we took him in but, we've finally gotten back his DNA results. Shadow is 1/2 border collie and 1/2 miniature wire haired dachshund on one grandparents side and 1/2 australian kelpie and a mixture of other breeds on the other side. So Shadow is what we like to call a Pure Muttigree. He's got short legs and a pointed nose like a dachshund; his legs are spotted. Shadow is 7 years old (in his video we say he is 10 years old, but this is incorrect) and about 35-40 pounds, just a wonderful medium-sized dog.
Shadow lived in his former home with a cat and a Chihuahua until he was flooded out of his apartment. He prefers small dogs and loves children, having lived with 4 children under the age of eight. Shadow is now part of OPINs rescue network and in a wonderful foster home.
Shadow is a very friendly dog, likable the first moment you meet him. He is house-trained and bonds very easily to people. Shadow most likely got his name because he tends to be your shadow. He loves to be pet and surely will make someone a wonderful companion or family dog.
