Cassie Pekingese Longview, WA

Cassie arrived in rescue, recently discharged from an emergency veterinary hospital. She had been attacked by the other family pet (a French Bulldog) and the damage was so severe that the eye could not be saved. Poor Cassie underwent emergency surgery to remove it. Her guardians were sick at heart; they had brought Cassie into their home when she was just a pup; for 6 years, Cassie was the darling of the household. Then the arrival of the Frenchie, and Cassie became the target for his aggression. Sadly, for Cassie's sake, her guardians decided to release her to our rescue for placement. This is one darling little dog. It's obvious she has had very good care in the past; her coat is long and shiny and mat-free. She has been fed high-quality food; her health and weight (10#) are excellent. She has been greatly loved. But now she is in foster care, recuperating from her surgery. We think Cassie will be ready for her new home in approximately 10 days. Cassie loves to go for walks. She loves to go for rides in the car. She meets new people easily. She loves other dogs (in spite of the recent attack) and cats. She would be a great traveling companion for a retired couple, with an RV :) Cassie is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and microchipped.
