Lola - ADOPTED! Border Collie Mix Richmond, VA

Hello, my name is Lola and I was born in September 2009.  My family adopted me Thanksgiving weekend in 2009. I am a 4-year old, 45 lb, spayed female Border Collie mix.
I am a very sweet and loving dog to my humans. I am high energy and love to chase deer, birds and squirrels and any other critter that comes into my yard. I will get very excited when you come home and whenever anyone new comes over.  I know how to speak, sit, shake, lie down, climb, weave through your legs and stand on my back legs.  I will also pretend to die if you shoot me with your finger (as long as you are holding a treat). I am very smart! I am house trained.  I sleep every night in my crate.  It is my safe spot.  I even put myself to bed sometimes when I get tired.
I like going on walks and am getting better about not pulling.  I used to pull a lot but I have learned to heel.  I still need more practice. If you hide a peanut butter Kong anywhere in the house I can find it pretty quickly.  I will not stop until I do. I am tenacious! I get scared in thunderstorms and do not like the sound of guns shooting. Where I live now there is a hunt club next to the neighborhood. I get anxious when they are shooting, which is every weekend.  I have a Thundershirt and wear it when I am stressed, it helps.  I get a little nervous around lots of little kids.
