Meet Peg Leg Pete aka PLP

Update 02/23/2013*** A video of PLP getting around after his surgery has been added for all to see!
Update 09/12/2013*** PLP underwent his FHO surgery on 09/04/2013 to correct his injured leg and came through beautifully! He has already up and about walking on his toes and playing with his fur siblings. You can't keep this good dog down! He is now in rehab therapy to gain full use of his right leg. The best therapy … playing and swimming! Playing allows PLP to forget about his leg and strengthens his leg while running in the fenced backyard or in the house. He will have his stitches removed on 09/14/2013 and begin his swimming therapy. Splish, splash time in the tub is what swimming therapy is all about for this little guy and his life jacket. Swimming is about 10 minutes every day for low impact exercise until his leg is back to full use. Now all PLP needs is a forever home!!
08/17/2012*** Peg Leg Pete aka PLP is a five month old Yorkie/Poo. PLP has had a “ruff” four months of life. He was found in a kill shelter with his sibling but deemed unadoptable because of a hip that was out of socket. Rescue saw a bright future for this little guy after some much needed vet care. PLP is currently in foster care waiting to put on enough weight to have a FHO performed on his injured leg. He is scheduled for surgery in September 2013. It will take about a month for recovery, and PLP will be ready for his fur-ever family.
PLP hasn’t let his bum leg slow him down! He runs and plays with his fellow foster siblings with no problems. PLP doesn’t know his injured, because this is the only life he has ever known. Can you imagine how great life will be for this loving guy when his leg is all better? He loves toys, gets along with everyone including cats, and enjoys his cuddle time.
He is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm and flea prevention, microchipped and heartworm negative.
