Meet Ike
I am called Ike. I am a five year old brown tiger with white cat looking for placement in a loving forever home. I am a neutered male and I live at Cat Welfare, but I sure would love to move into new quarters in a real home soon. I am rather shy and retiring, but I am friendly and I accept being petted and talked to very readily. I was abandoned at Cat Welfare in June of 2013 along with another cat, Mamie, but Mamie and I don’t much care for each other. She’s been rather bossy towards me, and I wouldn’t mind living away from her. Please come and meet me. I am a sweet fellow and I truly need a home.
***************UPDATE from IKE (6-24-14)***************
Hello, it's me, Ike, again. I'm here to tell you that I am still a loving and wonderful cat looking for a home. My companion Mamie was adopted some months ago because she decided to become a lap cat and learned that by imposing herself on any sitting human, she was likely to be taken home. Lucky for her, it worked.
Over the winter months, I had a very difficult time feeling at home here in the shelter, but it wasn't because there weren't kind and caring people around me. Everyone I meet at Cat Welfare is a friend and I love them all. I just found my best comfort by staying on a shelf in the store room with all the paper bags and supplies. We had a very big and wonderful renovation project over the winter and I met some very nice construction workers. I particularly enjoyed spending time with our superintendent. He was very good to me. I also liked watching the electricians working on the service panel near my shelf.
As spring arrived, I started to venture out and away from my shelf. I am now "off-the-shelf" as they say. Most of the time I am resting in the sun room or in our nice big open area. I love to sleep up high on cat trees. Just recently, I have become brave enough to sit on laps. This is a very nice experience for me. I just love the attention and I know the people I have chosen to sit with find me a pleasant companion.
I am still looking for a home, so if you are looking for a really nice, quiet, appreciative, and loving cat, please come and get me. I would do well in a quiet home where I can continue my unassuming ways. I get along fine with other cats as long as they are not too bossy or mean. I have been told I am very handsome, too. So please, come and see me and decide for yourself if I might be your next best friend.
Thanks, love, Ike
