Dude - UPDATE 10/25/13 Poodle & Shih Tzu Mix Shelbyville, IN

UPDATE: Dude was brought back yesterday, October 24 after being adopted August 5th. The woman reports that she is moving into a senior living home and cannot take this little lover-bug. This is the picture I took back in August. He is still adorable but doesn't look quite so happy and peppy :( Dude's adoption fee is still waived making him free to a FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER HOME. ~chrirs b

Thank you for choosing Petfinder.com for your next pet.  Dude is one of three different dogs that was surrendered yesterday, August 1 towards closing.  Dude is between nine to ten years old Poodle/Shih Tzu mix that DOES NOT SHED.  His owner had severe allergies and asthma herself and never had any problems with his dander.  Dude is both housebroken and crate trained.  She was kind enough to give us his crate to pass on to the next owner or rescue as he really loves his crate!  Dude gets along with other dogs and we are looking for a family that either doesn't have children or children that are 11 or older.  He doesn't like to be picked up, but a lot of seniors don't!  His owner said he really doesn't like to play but is a lap dog that loves to cuddle in bed with you or watch TV with you.  He is vetted through Dr. Brewster (Bean Blossom) and I was told he does have a cyst near his bottom but the vet said it was ok to leave alone.  His owner gave me a lot of great information that just helps us find him a home or rescue.  I did notice today when he was in the office he does have a bit of cloudiness to his eyes, but he seems to see just fine and has a happy disposition.  His owner has very small children and just didn't want the dog to be stressed out around them.  Dude's adoption fee has been waived making him free to a loving and forever home.  Any questions about Dude, please email Chris anytime at cbrowder@cityofshelbyvillein.com or call us M-F 9-5 or Sat 10-1 at 317-392-5127.  We have a great assortment of dogs and cats right now that ALL need homes and we are full.  Come support the shelter tomorrow, August 3 from 10-12:30 for our bake sale here at the shelter.  Thank you to Katrina and volunteers who are organizing this fundraiser to help us pay for vetting for several of our dogs.  Have a great weekend, chris
