Name: Farrell
Age/ Gender: Young (born 4/22/13), Male
Breed: Bunny Rabbit mix

Temperament: Curious, playful, sweet
Weight: ~7 lbs

Housetraining: Farrell is litterbox trained. Farrell and Navarro keep their cage very tidy! Farrell will need continued guidance when outside the cage, as he is still young, to reinforce his litterbox habit while playing.
Cats: Fine, as long as the cat does not have a prey drive toward rabbits and all interactions are supervised
Dogs: Again, fine as long as the dog does not have a prey drive. Supervision and appropriate introduction required, dogs and rabbits should never be left alone unsupervised. Farrell is not afraid of the dog in foster care and can go home with a rabbit-savvy dog.
Children: Rabbit respectful children, 5 and older.
Adoption Donation: $100 total when adopted together with his pal, Navarro
Health: Farrell is healthy! He was neutered on 8/13/13. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs.

History: Farrell was surrendered when his former family could no longer care for him. Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find him a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!

Notes from Farrell's Foster Home: Farrell is non-stop entertainment! He can be a bit of a clown and has tons of personality. This boy is charming from the moment you meet him and is always at the front of the cage to greet you. Farrell is expected to be a medium sized rabbit, around 10 lbs once mature. He loves to have playtime outside the cage and runs as fast as he can to stretch out his legs, then flops down on cool smooth surfaces like tile! Farrell will sit in your lap for a few pets, but then it’s off to the next adventure. He particularly loves to explore every rabbit-proofed room in your home, especially the bathroom (and snuggle up against the ceramic tub, this boy loves cold surfaces). Farrell is learning how to be the perfect house rabbit and is good at listening and will usually stop his mischief with just verbal warnings (which most young rabbits would ignore!). He even responds to his name. This is a smart guy who is very food motivated, if you are looking for a rabbit to train to do tricks, Farrell should be easy to train. Farrell is almost too comfortable with the dog in his foster home and likes to sneak up behind her, nudge her, and try to initiate play. He will need close supervision with other animals in the home as even a playful dog can accidentally hurt a rabbit.

Farrell would love to find a home together with his buddy, Navarro, as they are currently a bonded pair. Rabbits prefer to live with a friend and getting a pre-bonded pair makes it easier than trying to bond two singles later on. They are a great pair that complement each other, with Navarro being the cuddly lap rabbit while Farrell runs around to entertain you. Farrell and Navarro are indoor house rabbits and will need a large cage (at least 4 ft x 4 ft) and a rabbit-proof area to have play time. Volunteers donated over $100 worth of supplies to build them a condo-style cage that would ideally go with them to their adoptive home for an additional donation (suggested $50 or more). Their condo is easy to clean, takes up less floor space than a 4 ft x 4 ft enclosure, and breaks down easily for transport. Would you like Farrell's antics to brighten your day?

Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet! For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.

Thank you for considering adopting a rabbit in need!

Thanks,

The Motley Zoo Crew
