Meet Navarro - ADOPTED!

** ADOPTED ** Thank you to everyone who wanted to provide Navarro with a loving home! Unless otherwise requested, any adoption applications we received will be kept on file for future adoption consideration.

Name: Navarro
Age/ Gender: Baby (born 4/22/13), Male
Breed: Rex mix

Temperament: Shy, cuddly, sweet
Weight: ~6 lbs

Housetraining: Navarro is litterbox trained! Farrell and Navarro keep their cage very tidy! Navarro is also very good about going back in the cage to use the litterbox while he is out playing.
Cats: Fine, as long as the cat does not have a prey drive toward rabbits and all interactions are supervised
Dogs: Again, fine as long as the dog does not have a prey drive. Supervision and appropriate introduction required; dogs and rabbits should never be left alone unsupervised. Navarro is not afraid of the dog in foster care and can go home with a rabbit-savvy dog.
Children: Rabbit respectful children, 5 and older.
Adoption Donation: $100 total when adopted together with his buddy, Farrell
Health: Navarro is healthy! He was neutered on 8/13/13. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs.

History: Navarro was surrendered when his former family could no longer care for him. Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find him a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!

Notes from Navarro's Foster Home: Navarro is a very sweet, mellow lap rabbit. Once you start petting him, he doesn't want you to stop. Navarro loves to have play time outside his cage and binky (kick up his heels) around the house or in a playpen in the yard. He can be quite the acrobat when he gets enough floor space to run and jump and spin in the air. He’s a little smaller than his buddy Farrell and loves to crawl under furniture and poke his head out when you call his name. He can be a little wary in new situations, and if something is going on that he's not happy about, he'll give a thump to let you know. He’s more reserved than his outgoing cage mate, but it doesn’t take long for his sweet personality to win you over. His foster mom doesn't like to play favorites, but has a huge soft spot for this great guy. Navarro is a breed known as a rex, and they are known for their extremely soft fur and curly whiskers. Navarro is expected to be a medium sized rabbit, around 8-10 lbs once mature. Navarro would love to find a home together with his buddy, Perry, as they are currently a bonded pair. Rabbits prefer to live with a friend and getting a pre-bonded pair makes it easier than trying to bond two singles later on. Their temperaments complement each other, with Navarro being the cuddly lap rabbit while Farrell runs around to entertain you. Farrell and Navarro are indoor house rabbits and will need a large cage (at least 4 ft x 4 ft) and a rabbit-proof area to have play time. Volunteers donated over $100 worth of supplies to build them a condo-style cage that would ideally go with them to their adoptive home an additional donation (suggested $50 or more). Their condo is easy to clean, takes up less floor space than a 4 ft x 4 ft enclosure, and breaks down easily for transport. Is this handsome guy the one for you?

Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet! For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.

Thank you for considering adopting a rabbit in need!

Thanks,

The Motley Zoo Crew
