Meet Scotch
Scotch was seen in the backyard of a Sherborn home by the end of the woods. For several days the young girl in the family pointed to the rabbit thinking it needed help but was assured by her parent that is was a wild rabbit and should be left alone. On the fourth day she snuck out and patted the rabbit who was thrilled to have human contact. Her parent called the ACO who drove the rabbit over asking if we could take it in and as luck would have it we had an open cage. Scotch, so named because she had a large amount of duct tape on her stomach, was so hungry she ate a whole Romaine lettuce bundle, carrot top and big bowl of water.  She can be seen hopping around our lobby for exercise lobby, being patted by everyone she meets and made friends with one of our friendly small dogs. We spay and neuter all of our rabbits to give them the best chance for a long life. She is estimated to be less than 2 years old. She is gentle enough for small children.
Rabbits are active, gentle pets that are happiest and healthiest when they have a large clean cage, lots of play time out of their cage, and plenty of fresh hay and veggies daily. All of the Medfield Shelter's bunnies are indoor pets and would not do well outside in a hutch. If you are interested in adopting a rabbit from our shelter, please fill out our adoption application
