Meet Everly

Breed:  Wheaten Terrier/Terrier

Age:  2-3 years

Weight: 30 pounds optimal (25 now, too skinny)

Good with dogs:  Yes

Good with cats:  Ok

Good with kids:  Yes

Energy Level:  Low-Medium

Everly is a sweet yet timid little girl, with a little snuggling she warms right up. She was begging with her eyes to get out of her kennel that the rescuer had to pull her. She is unbelievably loving when she got out of the kennel. Everly has beautiful golden hair/fur. She is a small/medium sized dog with low/medium energy. When a volunteer laid on her side, Everly curled up on her side next to her and squirmed her way in. She looks to humans for guidance and is a people dog.  She loves everyone she meets. She is a half dog bowl full as opposed to half empty. She is ready to start her forever life whenever you are ready and willing. She is sweet sweet sweet! She tested great with other dogs and kids but will bark at cats because she is unfamiliar yet. Her foster mom said she will be fine with time. She will do great with other dogs or as an only dog - with a family or single person. Do you want a sweet, medium sized dog who will snuggle with you? Everly would make a great pal.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
