Hello, my name is Sadie.  I was abandoned at the Ark with Sabastian, my son.  I was so sick.  The note left with me asks Ms. Nina if she had me put to death, to please stay with me.  Ms. Nina sent me to the Animal Emergency Clinic.  They said I had a terrible infection.  I would not have suffered this if I had been spayed.  They gave me a strong antibiotic injection, and I had to have major surgery at the Ark veterinary hospital the next day.  At the age of 15, it was touch and go.  As you can see from my pictures, I am doing great!  The Ark actually saved my life.  Think I am saying a prayer of thanks in one of my pictures.  I was sniffing the wonderful fresh air too!  I can live the rest of my life at the Ark, or maybe a loving family will let me live it out with them.  I am a Labrador retriever.  I weigh 47 lbs.  Thank all of you that helped the Ark with my surgery and care.  I now have another chance at living the rest of my years without pain and suffering.  When you come to the Ark, ask to meet Sadie.  That’s me.


Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs.
