Meet Bandit

Bandit is a wonderful, playful 8 month old husky mix puppy. He is about 65 lbs so he will mature to be a large boy. On top of being super fun and smart he is drop.dead.gorgeous. Bandit is one of those dogs who believes everyday is the best day of his life.

He is potty trained and working on learning new commands and his leash skills. Bandit is great with dogs and kids and young enough that he could be trained to be around dog savvy cats. He loves to play with his foster siblings, dog and human alike. Bandit is an active young boy who would love a walking/running buddy and/or a fenced in yard so he can run around and be a dog. If you think this guy is perfect for your family please email Jen@bigfluffydogs.com

From Bandits foster family: "Bandit is a snuggler, especially in the mornings; he loves to sleep next to you with his head on your leg; he loves to play fetch with a tennis ball; he will seek out and destroy any toy with a squeaker and pull the insides all out like an autopsy, so rubber toys are best; he loves ice cubes and will run into the kitchen when he hears the ice cube maker, sitting patiently until you give him an ice cube and then wait for another like its filet Mignon; he's very smart and learns quickly, he already knows sit, shake, he sits and waits until he's "free" to eat breakfast and lunch, he never wants to come because to him it's always play time; he will sometimes run around the yard in a circle for no reason until he's exhausted but always wants that ice cube...
...I think Bandit would make a great companion for a runner, with a little leash training or would do best with a fenced yard; smaller dogs or dogs his size, preferably female would be a good fit; he loves everyone, has a great temperament and needs someone to love him back. Please someone give him the love he will give you. He's an awesome dog with great eyebrows."

Our main website, www.bigfluffydogs.com has more information about us and the rescue process.

All known information about an individual dog is provided in it's listing. We do our best to provide accurate information, but adopters must understand that each home is different and the dog may behave differently in a new home. Dogs are creatures of their environment and you help make the dog what it will be.

Homes considering adopting a puppy must be prepared for:
1.) Flexible schedules for potty training. Puppies can only "hold it" for one hour per month of age (ex. a 4 month old puppy can only go 4 hours without a potty break).
2.) Crate training until the puppy is at least one year old, to prevent chewing on inappropriate things when you can't supervise.
3.) Socialization: The more positive and varying experiences as a puppy the better, both in and out of your home.
4.) Puppy behavior and life stages are equivalent to a human toddler. It takes at least a full year to have a calmer, well adjusted dog. Patience is required and when your dog's behavior is a positive experience for you and those around you, your patience will be rewarded tenfold, for years to come.
Please do not consider adopting a puppy if you have not thoroughly thought through the pros and cons of having one. So many people end up returning them after 3-5 months because they didn't realize the amount of work involved in raising a puppy.
Patience, appropriate toys, socialization, and obedience training are all musts. All are time consuming, and can be expensive.

All Dogs Require:Supervision with children and obedience training.
Adopters that want to have good dogs must be prepared to put the time and effort into training a dog. Any dog requires work and effort, but a well trained, well socialized dog is more than worth the effort put in to get them there.
