Chloe - ADOPTION PENDING Papillon Wooster, OH

Little Chloe came to us after her owner passed away and another rescue could no longer care for her.  She is 8 years old, loves to play and snuggle.  She has knee and hip problems that are not painful but do restrict her movement such as going up and down stairs and jumping on furniture.  On a flat surface she is fine.


Chloe loves other dogs and is fine with cats.  She likes men and woman alike and would be fine with older children.  She rides well in the car but needs work walking on a leash.


Chloe is an over-consumer of water.  She will need to live in a household where her water can be monitored.  With free access to water she will over drink and what goes in one end must come out the other.  We have done all the testing on her and found that this is just a behavior situation so she will need to live with someone that does not need to have  a water bowl down all the time.  In that kind of environment Chloe is good with her house training as long as someone is watching her.  She is not 100% but will get there with controlled water intake and a bit more work from her new owner.  With some dogs, controlling their water intake reprograms them to start consuming water normally.  Only time will tell if this will be the case with Chloe.  


Chloe is very good in her crate; well behaved and clean.  She will do best with someone that is home a good amount of time during the day; someone who works from home, works very part time or is retired.  She will need a fenced yard as she does not do well on a leash.  And she will need to live where there are minimal steps.


Chloe is a very sweet dog that has had a tough time since her owner passed. She was put into a rescue where she was crated most of the time and has now blossomed with Star-Mar.  Her mobility with her back legs has improved and she has gone from not being able to manage any steps to being able to come and go from the house to the yard.  Chloe will make a wonderful champion to someone that wants a snuggle bug, devoted little dog.
