Winter is approximately 4-5 years old and a Siberian Husky. She is on the smaller side for a Husky and weighs approximately 40-45 pounds and is full grown.


Winter has been vet checked, started on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm tested negative, microhipped and started on her flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.


Winter has been around other dogs and she does fairly well. She does seem to prefer the company of male dogs more than females, but she adjusts and gets along well with everyone. She does a chase instinct with the smaller ones, so we recommend dogs over 25 pounds and would do best without cats in her new home as well.


Winter is very shy and timid when meeting new people. She will warm up slowly with patience and attention. When she gets comfortable with you, she is one of the biggest talkers! She will tell you all about her thoughts and tons of stories too! She also becomes quite the follower and enjoys following you from room to room as you do chores, or outside in the fenced area/tie out as you are working in the yard.


Winter has come along way since arriving in rescue. She was petrified when she first came, but she has adjusted to being handled and loved on daily. She is also doing well walking on the leash, but sometimes she gets nervous and freezes up. A little bit a sweet talking and she is back to walking right next to you! She also has learned to kennel up, knows what the term outside means, and has been working on come and sit. She enjoys treats and is very smart, just needs someone willing to work with her and earn her trust and loyalty.


Winter will need a securly fenced in yard, or to always be kept on a leash. She is a runner and will not stop if she gets away from you. She has a medium energy level, but is very content going for daily walks. She has never been a big chewer and only chews on her bones and she does enjoy some toys as well. Winter will continue to blossum into a wonderful and loving companion...are you the special family to continue to show her how wonderful of a dog she can be?
