Meet Lil' Bit

NOTE: Please click on "Read More About This Pet" below BEFORE contacting us.

Maggie and Lil' Bit were recently surrendered to the shelter by their elderly owners, who was no longer able to care for them ... and a shelter is no place for these two ladies who are used to the comfort of home! So we invited them to join the Almost Home family, and they just made the long trip north in search of a new family to love. Here's what their foster mom told us about the girls:

"Lil' Bit has a super-soft coat, and just wants to be around people —any people, any time, anywhere! She's housetrained, walks nicely on a leash, but is sometimes anxious around other dogs, especially big ones, so she might prefer to be the only dog in the household. 'Big sister' Maggie (who's actually smaller :-) is an absolute sweetheart who's happy to do whatever you'd like her to do: eat, sleep, take a bath, hold still to be groomed, snuggle on your lap, go for a walk — you name it, and Maggie's game! She's about 8 years old, and could probably use a good dental cleaning, but otherwise seems to be in perfect health."

Want to learn more? Please stop by an upcoming Meet & Greet to find out if one of these cuties is the right girl for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)

PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events: You can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes with electric-shock fences; for information, please visit http://www.noshockcollars.com/ (click on "NSCC Links," scroll down and click on "A huge collection of useful information," then scroll down and click on "Invisible Fencing Systems"). (Note: Please e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com to request an adoption application.) To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our website, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees.

FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives -- that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!
