Kunik Siberian Husky Alpharetta, GA

Kunik is a fun loving boy who gets along with all canine friends so far. He is fully blind but as a newly blind dog his other instincts are kicking in well and his nose is working overtime. He can sniff out a cat and is doing so with far too much interest to feel comfortable placing him in a home with cats at this time. I think a home with another dog would be a good fit for him. He loves to take walks, go far rides and visit new things. He will jog along side you and is learning good manners on the lead. In new areas he wants to sniff most everything and of course kiss everyone he meets. He adores humans from newborn babies to adults. He does not chew on anything but likes to play with toys which squeak or make noise. You can leave him sitting in the vehicle when traveling and he will take a nap and patiently await your return. He does have a little anxiety about storms and will pace and wants to be cuddled during loud rain or thunder. He will scratch at the door if he needs to go out 95% of the time and knows the layout of our home well. He would do best in a one story home with little to no steps. Kunik will sit at the sound of treats or the mere smell and if you make him wait a few moments he will start dancing with his front feet in excitement. Kunik had surgery to remove both eyes due to a disorder called VKH (Vogt–Koyanagi–Harada syndrome). He will at times of his life require prednisone to treat flare ups of VKH and beyond that is healthy. He has all of his vaccinations, neuter, microchip, and prevention. We currently have him on extra vitamins and Essiac Paws Tea to boost his immune system and it is recommended he remain on that.
