Meet Marley
Breed: Â Cocker Spaniel
Age: Â 3 years
Weight: Â 20-25 lb.
Good with dogs: Â Yes
Good with cats: Â Yes
Good with kids: Â Older. She is scared so young children will scare her
Energy Level:  Low to Medium  Â
I (Chey) just love this little girl so much. She has been through so much. When they first received her at the shelter, she beyond matted and the owners said she was aggressive. This was not the case. After shaving Marley's fur down so she would be comfortable, we found open bite wounds from a large dog. She was beyond timid and scared. She was clearly in a home where she was mistreated and they allowed the dogs to attack her. We have since treated her at the vet. She had cherry eye and we also had the vet take care of that. She is an unbelievably sweet, sweet, little girl. She is so submissive that she pees sometimes because she is so scared. I don't want to mislead you by not giving you that info. She needs a special home. A home that will be patient and give her the love she deserves and requires. She is a petite little cocker and only wants to feel secure.

Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
