Arrival story: We met Ike on photo shoot at a rural shelter. He won our hearts over then and we knew his time was running out at the shelter. He was a staff favorite and we knew that he needed our help.

Personality: What a super fantastic, friendly guy Ike is! Clearly he's had some bad experiences in the past - someone cut his ears clear off! Despite whatever he's gone through, Ike absolutely LOVES every human and dog that he meets. Not a mean bone in this adorable wiggly little body. If your dog is looking for the bestest friend in the world, Ike would love to finally have a last name.

Ike attends doggy daycare and is the life of the party! He was a favorite dog in a vet tech prep program class that he attended on the west side of the state. The director of the program described Ike as a “lover boy who can’t get enough affection from anyone around him.” Around cats, Ike acts as if he wants to engage but doesn’t really know what to make of them. Ike rides well in the car.

Ike would like to attend obedience class and have a nice big yard to run and romp in. He’s a young dog with a zest for life. He will need an active family that can provide him with an outlet for his puppy-ish, exuberant, playful ways. Ike needs work on his leash manners and will benefit hugely from attending a training class.

Forever home: Ike would like a home with another dog pal and an active and affectionate family that is committed to positive and kind training. .

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
