Sophia is an approximately 2 year old Italian Mastiff Mix. Sophia was surrendered to the rescue with lameness on her left rear leg. Upon evaluation from a veterinarian it was discovered that Sophia has torn CCL’s on both of her rear legs. Her left leg was worse and she had surgery in early April to repair it; after 6-8 weeks of recovery she will have an additional surgery to correct her right leg. 
 
Sophia is a very sweet and affectionate puppy. She’s handling bed rest reasonably well but loves all the other dogs in her foster home and is very jealous she can’t romp around with them. She’s just a little bit sassy and can be a talker. Sophia is very kind natured and knows basic commands. She is house and crated trained and will let you know when it is time to go outside. 
 
There is still a long and expensive road ahead of Sophia before her legs will be completely healed, but she is already making spectacular progress!!
