Arrival story:  I came in as a stray at a rural shelter.  Waggin' Tails posted bail for me so I could find a loving forever home. I have recently finished heartworm treatment and moved into a new foster home. 
Personality:  Hi I'm Davy. I'm a 7 year old sweet handsome boy. I love my people a lot. I even follow my foster parents from room to room. And if they let me, I even go into the bathroom with them. When we are outside in the yard, I walk along side them as if I'm heeling. My foster parents laugh because I almost make them trip over me because I want to be so close to them. Not to worry, I also enjoy romping around in the yard with the resident beagles I live with. I take off when I see rabbits or geese. So, I would say a fenced in yard is a must have for me.
My foster parents say I have excellent house manners. I'm mellow, don't jump up on people, but it may take a little time for me to feel comfortable with people who visit your house.  I live with a bunch of cats and beagles at my foster home and get along well with them, but I may not feel comfortable around a dominant dog. I also react to seeing new dogs while walking in the park. I took training lessons to focus on my people and not on other dogs but I need to continue my training in this area. Everyone including my teacher says I’m doing better though. Please don't hesitate to take me for daily walks or jogs, because I really enjoy going out and I ride a car very well.

Forever home:  I think I would thrive with routine and with a family who has time to give me lots of love and take me for daily walks. I LOVE walks.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
