Good With Other Dogs: With the proper introductions it appears as though Macy could get along with other dogs. She has never lived with other dogs.
Good With Cats: Has lived with cats but doesn't seem to like them now.
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Working on it. Macy does not like being confined in a crate and will become anxious.
Walks Nicely On A Leash: Ok on leash
Knows Basic Commands: Macy recently graduated, at the top of her class, from obedience training! Congrats Macy!!

Arrival story: Macy's owner was battling cancer and a good friend came to help care for Macy, her feline playmates, and her owner. When Macy's owner passed away her friend could not let Macy go to a shelter, so she packed her up and moved sweet Macy back to Michigan with her. This guardian angel has physical conditions that does not allow her to give Macy the exercise and stimulation she needs so she asked Waggin' Tails to help find Macy a new home.

Personality: Macy is an absolute cuddlebug with the sweetest mug of a face. Her underbite will bring a smile to your face every day! It's adorable. Macy loves to give kisses and enjoys going on walks, too. She would love a home with her very own backyard for off leash sniffs and fun. Macy enjoys spending time with kids and is excited to meet new people. Macy's guardian believes that she is protective and will bark and growl at other dogs when on her walks. However, a neighbor who walks Macy reported that she does not exhibit these behaviors when with her. It's possible that Macy is just being protective of her guardian. Either way, proper introductions will be needed when meeting new dogs.

Macy is house-trained and has nice house manners. Our girl is not fond of the crate but does well being left out. Macy is good at the vets office and riding in cars. She wears an Easy-Walk harness while on walks for a little bit of added control for her handler.

Forever home: Macy is a very sweet and affectionate dog who enjoys human companionship above all else. She enjoys going for walks and would love to have a back yard to call her very own.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information:
Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs (9 years +) , $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue does not have a shelter facility. All of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar on our website at www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted. This application does not imply an obligation to adopt by the applicant or by the rescue group.
Our volunteers have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries are the quickest way to obtain information about a dog.
