Betsy Mae Rat Terrier Mix Dallas, TX

Betsy was rescued as a pup by an elderly couple. Her dad recently passed and her mom had to move into an assisted living facility where Betsy wasn't welcome. I promised her that I would find Betsy the best home ever.

 Betsy is a 5 year old Rat Terrier, possibly a mix. She is very calm, loving and affectionate and very smart! Betsy does great with other dogs and pretty well with cats. The only problem is she just can't resist chasing cats just a little! :) Betsy's only flaw is that she is really shy at first. It took a few days for her to allow us to pick her up and cuddle and kiss her. She would come close to us but would not allow us to bring her close. After about a week I felt her snuggle up next to my side in bed late one night, under the covers of course. She's been a sweety ever since. 

 Betsy loves to play with other dogs, with plush toys especially the ones with no stuffing! She will engage other dogs in a game of tug of war in a second! She's not a ball chaser but she is the perfect lap partner and snuggle buddy. She would do well in a home with another dog but a home with a family who is willing to take her on walks or trips to the dog park would be great too. She's wonderful on a leash! Betsy uses the dog door to potty outside

A bond with this baby is definately worth the wait, patience and love it takes to get there, I promise!

Betsy Mae is a participant in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, and her ongoing care and custody are provided by her foster, not by DFW Rescue Me.
