Meet Cromwell

Cheerio, Cromwell (aka Chrome) here. So how are things? Well, for me life is much better than when I was at the previous shelter. You see, my owner did not want me anymore and so I wound up alone, scared and by myself in a strange place. The nice folks at GLWR took me in and are helping me to find a new home. I had to hang out at a nice boarding kennel for a bit until they found some space for me but here I am now and life is pretty good. The only thing that would make life better is to get my very own forever family.

So, let me tell you about me....well it starts with the word "fun" and ends with the word "fun"!! I am a happy go lucky little fella! I love hanging out with my 3 foster weims. I love to jump on them and play! You see although I am a very handsome 1 1/2 year old blue boy (if I do say so myself) I am a bit on the shorter side. I have a beautiful shimmery blue coat and white on my chest and feet tips. My foster mom can’t believe how soft I am!! There is some question that I may not be all weim and I may likely have some lab in me too. I look like a weim, act like a weim, but am a little bit stouter than the Weims and I do have a long tail yet. I am great with all the other dogs and love to play. However, I don't mind being alone and I really like being with my human foster family. Not so sure about cats. Not been around one, but they look like they might like to play a game of chase. I would love to play ball and even will play soccer with myself when I get bored in my crate at times. Oh yeah, by the way I don't mind hanging around in my crate when need be, but I am very good in the house too if you want me to to just hang out and keep an eye on things for you too!

I am learning how to walk good on a leash & am learning my manners & basic commands! I am also learning not to go on furniture & I sleep well in my dog bed alongside my foster family. All that said, don't you think you would like me to come and live with you? You can't go wrong...trust that I am the best companion and dog you will ever have...just give me a chance and you will not be disappointed! Hope to see you soon...cheers, Cromwell

Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue is an all volunteer, nonprofit group whose primary mission is to help with the rescue and placement of Weims in the Great Lakes region; including Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Ontario.
GLWR is headquartered in Michigan with a network of foster homes in our State & Country Chapters. We do not have a shelter that is open for the public to visit. All applicants must be approved before meeting any dog in our foster network.

GLWR does not ship dogs, but if you are willing to travel to meet one of our dogs fostered in one of our Satellite Chapters, then you are welcome to apply for adoption.  All dogs not listed as being fostered in a specific State or Country Chapter, are fostered in Michigan.

Please visit our website at www.GreatLakesWeimRescue.com to see a complete list of weims that are waiting for their forever homes!

The availability status of any Weimaraner listed on our site is subject to change without notice.  Please contact our Adoption and Applications Coordinator for current availability status.
