Meet Mimi - ADOPTED!

* { font:inherit; } ** ADOPTED ** Thank you to everyone who wanted to provide Mimi with a loving home! Unless otherwise requested, any adoption applications we received will be kept on file for future adoption consideration.   Visit Mimi on YouTube at: http://youtu.be/NBkLhbtr_uM For additional videos of Mimi, visit:  http://youtu.be/KO1iHoPlZZs and http://youtu.be/lbfbIpWrkR0    Mimi plays at the dog park at: http://youtu.be/27ukF5ycMao   Name: Mimi Age/Gender: 7 years, Female Breed: Corgi/Terrier mix Temperament: Loving, social Weight: 27 lbs House Training: Good!   Crate Training: Not yet, but she's working on it!   Other Dogs: Social on neutral territory, but can be possessive of her human when in the house. Would do best as an only dog, or possibly okay with a submissive male. Cats: Good with dog savvy cats, she has a tendency to follow them around, hoping they'll play   Children: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older Adoption Donation: $350 Health: Mimi is healthy! She is spayed, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with 30 days of free pet insurance provided by Shelter Care.   History: Mimi was surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her. Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find her a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!   Notes from Mimi's Foster Home: Mimi loves to be loved! She wants to sit in a lap and kiss her favored people as much as they're willing to let her. She loves to spend time with her person, and loves to be pet. If you leave the house, Mimi will greet your return with enthusiastic wiggles and dancing on her hind legs! She loves people, but especially children.   Mimi's favorite activities are playing fetch and snuggling. She also loves a good walk and has great leash manners. Mimi can be reactive to other dogs due to lack of proper socialization by her previous owners, but her foster is working with her on this and she is steadily improving. Some continued work will likely be needed by her forever family. While Mimi would do best as an only dog, with careful introductions she has lived amiably with various other dogs in her foster home. Her best companions would be low-energy submissive dogs of either gender.   Mimi has great car manners. She is resistant to being crated, but eventually settles down. Having a rubber squeaky ball in the crate with her helps a lot! She is learning her basic commands, but so far has only mastered "sit". When out in the yard, or traveling local parks, she is a social butterfly. When in the house, however, she can be possessive of her people and has a tendency to growl at other dogs who might steal the limelight. She loves children, but is more cautious with unknown adults. Once she warms up, however, she's all about the love!   All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.   Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet!   For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.   Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!   Woof,   The Motley Zoo Crew
