9/12 update: I'm Georgia's foster mom, and have fallen in love with this girl. Georgia came to me with a decaying tooth, which was fixed and she was given some medicine for. The site where the tooth was removed is healing quickly, and it hasn't slowed her bone obsession down a bit! Georgia goes with me anywhere she is allowed, and is an absolute doll! She wins over anyone and everyone she meets. She has a bed on the floor at the foot of my bed to sleep on, which is where she usually goes. The past couple days she must want some more love, because she's actually fallen asleep on my bed. She will obey for the most part, but once her nose grabs a scent, she lets you know that it's something interesting :) Georgia hardly ever barks, whines, or howls. She likes to play with her current foster brother, Patches/Cupid. Patches, however, doesn't understand what Georgia is asking for, haha! She is for the most part a couch potato though, and lets me get my homework finished before play time. She likes to bask in the sun if given the opportunity. Only a couple accidents in the house, but most of the time it's because foster mom isn't listening to her cues. Overall, an absolutely wonderful dog, that just wants someone to love her and give her lots of treats.

Bio: Georgia is an awesome dog! She is beautiful, confident, happy and completely wonderful! Her pictures do not do her justice. She loves attention from people and is fantastic with dogs of all ages from a 9 week old puppy to a 11 year old grumpy chow mix. No aggression of any kind and is more that willing to share her food with other dogs with no complaints! She is very quiet and only barks when something is close to the house and even then she will be quiet when told to. There are no resident children at her foster home but she has been fine with visiting children. Someone is absolutely going to fall in love with this dog! Can someone please take a chance and adopt or rescue this love of a dog? You will not regret it!!!  Approximately 2-3 years and 50 lb.

Dogs in the Rowan County K-9 Shelter receive their first dhppl vaccination (parvo/distemper) upon arrival at the pound. Rabies vaccine and spay/neuter surgery can be done for the $50 adoption fee. Please note rabies vaccine and surgeries are NOT done on site and dogs must be adopted before they receive rabies vaccine or surgery. We currently do not have the ability to cat test the pound dogs.
