Arrival story:   Kayla was living with a homeless man who was doing the best he could to care for her. Kayla was his pal. He found a safer place to stay, and Waggin’ Tails took Kayla in so she could find a safer place, too – a loving forever home.

 

Approximate age / weight:  7 years young and 40 lbs.

Personality:   What a sweetheart!   Despite living on the streets, Kayla has great house manners and is house-trained and goes easily into her crate and is content to stay there while the humans are away.  She is good with other dogs but people are her main focus.  Kayla is super snuggly and friendly and a relatively laid back dog.  

Kayla knows the commands sit and down and is starting to enjoy the finer things in life in her foster home.  She has finally discovered toys!

As you can see in her photos, Kayla arrived with some skin issues but after treatment, her hot spots are healing and fur is growing back in nicely.   At 7 years old, being on the smaller side, she has many years left to be loved and love back.

Forever home:  Kayla would fit into many home situations but we feel that a more laid back home setting is ideal.  She definitely needs a person who is willing to cuddle.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $125 for senior dogs, $275 for small breed dogs and $250 for puppies, plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
