Meet ADOPTED! Jiya

NOTE: THANK YOU LISA AND JOE FOR ADDING JIYA TO YOUR HOME!

Jiya came to us from a rural Ohio pound where she had been dropped off my her owners.  She is an intentional Norwich Terrier/Schnauzer cross bought at a pet store.  Jiya quickly won the hearts of the staff but in need of surgery to save her life and no funds for that surgery, rescue was her only option.  Jiya means "piece of my heart" and stealing the hearts of the staff at this small pound saved Jiya's life.

Jiya came into rescue with Star-Mar about a year ago.  She had very large bladder stones which were removed.  She was a perfect little girl and we placed her in what we thought would be her forever home.  Unfortunately there was a job loss and a home sale and Jiya needed to come back into rescue.

Since her return Jiya has not missed a beat.  She is still the loyal, fun loving, affectionate little dog that left us almost a year ago.  Jiya loves her daily walks through the woods and is great with all dogs.  She had lived harmoniously with cats in her adoptive home.   Jiya is house trained, crate trained  and walks well on a leash.  She likes going in the car but takes a while to settle and could use more car rides to be the perfect traveler.

Jiya needs to live with someone that is home more than a 40 hour work week will allow; someone that works from home, works part time or is retired.  She would do fine with children that are 10 or older.  She very much enjoys her time outside and will need a fenced yard to keep her safe while allowing her that freedom.

Jiya weighs about 16 pounds and has a wire coat and fly away ears.  She is very smart, engaging and affectionate.  She sleeps at the end of the bed and tracks her foster provider's every step. Jiya likes to play and snuggle.  She likes men and woman alike and could live with or without other dogs in the home.  Jiya is about 7 years old.  She has not had any reoccurance of her bladder stones since her initial surgery and is not on prescription food.

If you feel that your lifestyle and environment meet Jiya's needs please contact learymjri@aol.com for an application.  Please click on the Star-Mar Rescue link below and read about our program and our adoption requirements.

We always respond to e-mails so if you don't hear back from us, we didn't hear from you.  Please try again.
