Mackenzie came to us as one of the saddest, most awful cases of neglect we've ever seen. She was skeletal and bald from mange. She has done such an amazing turnaround already and is growing her hair back. This is a note from her foster mom:


 





Hiya friends…I’m Mackenzie and my foster family likes to call me Kenzi. I feel like I’ve been freed from my cocoon! I am smelling every flower, meeting friends and determined to make my new life enthusiastic and full of positive energy! My intelligent, loyal and loving demeanor will put you at ease when you have a bad day. I may not be modest in saying that, but I am passionate about life and being part of that with you.     


My body is getting fuzzier by the day. That nasty mange is gone and so are my old memories of neglect.


I’m an extrovert, love-sponge that would enjoy having “all” of your attention. I get along fairly well with other dogs & cats (I will give chase, but do not harm). I’m learning about boundaries (as I didn’t know what that was before). Have you ever heard of clicker training? Well…that’s a fun way to learn and get lots of yummy treats. I’m just starting my training, and will need your help with structure, routine and continued training.
