Lily needs a foster home — can you help? Please see below for more information! Poor Lily is in a bit of a pickle, and needs a helping hand! She was adopted through Almost Home four years ago, but through no fault of her own, this 5-year-old Lab-mix girl is losing her home :-(  Her friends tell us she's a complete people-lover, although at 60 lbs., she may be a bit too clumsy — in a well-meaning way! -- for very little kids. No cats for Lily, though, please — way too tempting!

Since Lily's used to living as an "only pup," that would be the preferred situation for her, and she'd love a fenced yard for exercise (although she's fine with leash-walking, too). She's had knee surgery to repair a luxating patella, but now is just fine and ready to roll!

Lily needs to find a new home — even a foster home — ASAP, and may be available on a "foster-to-adopt" basis. Want to learn more? Please e-mail us or stop by an upcoming Meet & Greet to find out if Lily is the right pet for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)

PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events: You can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes with electric-shock fences; for information, please visit http://www.noshockcollars.com/ (click on "NSCC Links," scroll down and click on "A huge collection of useful information," then scroll down and click on "Invisible Fencing Systems"). (Note: Please e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com to request an adoption application.) To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our website, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees.

FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives -- that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!
