Sahara (Sara for short) is a beautiful young female who has had a horrendous start in life. Her story began when her owners dumped her at the local shelter along with her 4 babies. Within days, they all got sick with a severe upper respiratory virus that they picked up at the shelter. We pulled the family out and took them to the vets. One by one, the babies passed away. After spending over a week at the vets, Sahara was showing improvement, and she was discharged to come home right before the holidays.   

Sahara became a survivor. She is getting stronger every day and we are amazed at what she went through. She is a gentle cat that loves to play when you encourage her. She learns quickly and is very easy going. She prefers dry food only. We don't think she was ever held as a kitten so she is uncomfortable when picked up, but she tolerates it a little more each day. Just needs someone to hug her ...

We think she is a cross between a domestic cat, American Bobtail, as well as an Egyptian Mau. Her coat is silky smooth and spotted, and she has a  three-quarters length tail; we think this makes her look a bit exotic.  Her green eyes are incredible, both beautiful and so expressive; it is as if she knows she has been saved from certain death and is looking forward to her own home and family and all the love she deserves.  

Sahara is spayed, microchipped, FIV/Leuk tested negative, fecal tested, dewormed, and vaccinated. She is approximately 1 year old. She is being fostered in Boca Raton, FL. For more information or adoption application, please contact kate@ladyluckanimalrescue.com.
