Meet Huck

Huckleberry aka “Huck” is a gentle pit bull or staffie mix with gorgeous charcoal gray markings and piercing yellow eyes. Huck is about 13 to 15 months old; heartworm negative, fully vaccinated, 57 lbs, neutered, and microchipped. A well-behaved, laid back boy with a silly, playful side, and loves to army crawl on his belly and then roll over to demand belly rubs.. Don't let the intense expression fool you..this boy is a lover!  Huck is currently in a training program learning basic obedience.   Huck was dumped with Sawyer, his Blue Tick Coonhoun buddy. Just like the story characters of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer, these buddies had a big adventure together after being dumped and managed to remain together on the road for over a week. Freezing, Exhausted, Starved, flea infested, scared, treated poorly by area residents, dodging coyotes and feral hogs in neighboring woods—it only took a cold hot dog and the view of a warm back seat for these boys to let a passerby lift them into the car. They fell sound asleep in backseat of car for 4 hours out of exhaustion :( At the boarding kennel, they slept curled up together. Sadly, his best buddy Sawyer passed away unexpectedly so Huck must have his next adventure without his friend :( Poor Huck is missing his buddy, and really needs a forever home that will love and care for him forever. Huck would do best in a home with no cats or small animals.  Huck is fine with medium to large dogs.
