3/20 update from foster mom:  Farrah is the most relaxed, calm, low maintenance and loving hound I have ever seen! She has been spending the last few days inside and appears to be housebroken. We let her out 3-4 times a day and she has never had an accident inside. She sleeps all night without making a sound and waits calmly until someone lets her out. She is a very clean dog by nature and is not particularly fond of rain, mud or water puddles! She does not bark often but when she does, it is so quiet I can barely hear it. When she is inside, she is content to lay on a dog pillow all day, only occasionally getting up seeking attention. I have never seen her jumped up on anyone or anything. I have pulled her ears and tail with no reaction, other than to continue wagging her tail. Farrah is an absolutely wonderful dog and would be perfect for a family that wants a low key companion!


 3/17 update from foster mom: Farrah seems to be enjoying her new indoor dog status so I took a new picture for her listing. We both agree that she is our favorite hound that we have fostered to date! Love her!


3/12, updated info from foster:  Farrah is a wonderfully sweet dog! She is a calm dog but also loves to play. She has really enjoyed playing with 5 other dogs (both males and females) and is getting along great! She has not made a sound since she has been here and even at the kennel where all of the dogs are barking, she would always wait quietly for someone to pet her. She appears to be quite happy to be out of a kennel environment and into a foster home where she has can play in the grass. Someone is going to regret NOT taking this girl! Who can resist those long, soft ears?!

Farrah was picked up as a stray on 12-27 along with another dog.  She is a very sweet, friendly girl.  She is also getting along well with other dogs in Pen #5. Farrah looks to be maybe 3 years old, and is guessed to weigh 45 lbs.  To be spayed 1/15.

Dogs in the Rowan County K-9 Shelter receive their first dhppl vaccination (parvo/distemper) upon arrival at the pound. Rabies vaccine and spay/neuter surgery can be done for the $50 adoption fee. Please note rabies vaccine and surgeries are NOT done on site and dogs must be adopted before they receive rabies vaccine or surgery. We currently do not have the ability to cat test the pound dogs.
