December 21, 2012: We need your help this holiday season…Donner requires a $5000 surgery to live!

Sweet Donner was cast off as a stray after being the victim of serious abuse. His pelvis was completely shattered and is fractured into 5 different pieces. Because the pelvis fractured away from the spine, Donner needs to have metal plates inserted to piece him back together. The surgery was so intensive that it could not all be done at once, so he faced two delicate operations. Both surgeries were successful and Donner is on the road to recovery.

Despite the immense pain Donner is in, he has remained sweet and amenable to all of his caretakers. After a few weeks in veterinary care, Donner has been moved to a foster home where he continues to do well.

We recieved an urgent request from a high-kill shelter to save this 12-pound pup who couldn't walk, and we are only able to rescue dogs like Donner because of people like you.... We can't save him without your support. Please consider making a donation this holiday season towards Donner's care.

As an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, Pet Rescue of Mercer relies heavily on your donations to continue saving lives. Donner's medical bills are quickly growing.
