Meet Stormy *A Pet with Perks*

Stormy is not a mixed breed dog but a pure IN (Indian Native) dog also known as Pariah Dog or Desi Dog who was rescued from the streets of India. Please scroll at the bottom to get more information on this breed.

Stormy is a perfect medium size female IN dog who is over a year old and weighs around 30 pounds. This beautiful dog has shiny black coat with little white on her chest and intelligent brown eyes. She has a sharp elegant looks and temperament of strong and dominant breeds like Shepherd, Malinois or a Canaan Dog. She is a healthy and hardy dog who is spayed, micro chipped and up to date on all her shots.
Stormy has completed a formal obedience training program from a reputed trainer who believes Stormy to be an extraordinarily smart dog who has great potential to be a  great Working or Agility dog. *Stormy comes with perks; any one adopting Stormy will get a customized training DVD plus one free training session with the trainer*.

Besides being highly intelligent, quick learner and an independent thinking dog, Stormy is also very loving and loyal and bonds strongly to her people. She knows basic commands and is completely house broken, crate and leash trained. Her foster Mom often gets many compliments as Stormy walks perfectly on a leash just like a show dog. Since Stormy thrives on attention from her people an ideal home for her would be an active family who will continue her training and give her mental and physical daily excersice and all the attention she deserves.
Stormy needs humans who are strong pack leaders who shows natural authority over the dog in a calm, but firm, confident and consistent way. Stormy will make an excellent family pet with an experienced and active family who may have older kids or dogs but no cats.

Please read Stormy's story below-
Stormy and her litter mates were born on the streets of India; barely a week old these poor pups were orphaned when their Mother was killed by a car. When we went to rescue these pups we found that out of the seven puppies three were already dead due to starvation but fortunately we were able to save the remaining four survivors. All the pups were bottle fed with replacement milk and luckily their foster home was also fostering a lactating dog who nursed these pups as her own. All four brave little survivors grew into beautiful loving pups and were adopted in New Jersey.
However it was not a happy ending for our Stormy, the family who adopted her could not take care of her any longer and so now she is back with us waiting for that right forever home to call her own.

More Info- Desi (Local) or IN (Indian Native) Dog is a pure, ancient, indigenous dog of India that abounds the Indian streets. It has evolved entirely through natural selection without human intervention of any kind resulting into a very hardy, extremely intelligent, alert and independent thinking dog.

This is a natural primitive breed which is a direct descendant of the early domesticated dogs. These dogs are found to be genetically healthy with no known genetic diseases and a very strong immune system. They are highly adaptable, quick learners and versatile and are known to be even smarter and definitely calmer than the intelligent Border Collies.

They are very agile and excel at many dog sports such as agility and also make great jogging/running companions. They excel at outdoor sports like agility and lure coursing. While active outdoors, they are usually very calm and quiet indoors. They have tremendous stamina and hence need an active family who will take them for a daily brisk walk or a run.

INDogs dogs are sensitive by nature and do not respond well to harsh training methods and hence need an even tempered, gentle but firm and loving owner who knows how to calmly and consistently communicate the rules of the house.

These dogs love children and are known to have a calm and gentle demeanor around them. They bond strongly with their people and make an excellent family pet that is very loving, loyal, devoted and intelligent. Due to their intuitive nature and the strong bond they develop with their people they are much attuned to their surroundings and with training make excellent Therapy dogs. These dogs do not bark much but are always alert; they are friendly yet wary of strangers and make good watch dogs.

Desi dogs are low maintenance dog as they are generally very healthy and like to stay clean; they hardly shed and have virtually no doggy odor. Their smooth, fine coat is easy to groom. They have an all weather coat that allows them to easily adapt to different weather conditions.

A well-looked after pet INdog will rarely need to see a vet and may live a healthy life of up to the age of 12 – 16 +years. This is a medium size dog with an average height of 20-25 inches (51-64 cms) at the shoulder and generally weight about 28-45 pounds (12 – 20 kgs).

This natural primitive breed of dog is way superior to the artificially developed breeds as they are perfectly adapted for survival. A free-roaming life on the street for these dogs is always difficult and often hostile and hence requires high order of intelligence, quick and independent thinking to survive. On the streets it is the survival of the fittest, usually out of a litter some will get run over by cars while others will succumb to hunger and malnutrition. Only the most hardiest and intelligent ones will survive to produce off springs. When this survivor is adopted as a Pet, their owners are often awe struck with their beauty, grace, intelligence, loyalty and hardiness.
