Captain Labrador Retriever & Poodle Mix Plain City, OH

 

Meet The Captain!  Captain is a one year old Golden Doodle who came to us from Pike County along with his sister Tennille.  He is a handsome fellow with a very sweet personality.   He weighs approx 44 pounds.  

Here is what his foster mom has to say:

I am thrilled with Captain's transition so far.  He wagged his tail as soon as he met our Zoey in the back yard and he followed her around for a while. When we got him back in the house, you could tell he wanted to follow Zoey but he was scared. I sat on the floor and brushed him for a long time, which he loved and we had a quiet evening. He didn't want to even explore his environment till this morning.  He slept with Zoey on her dog bed last night. This morning he wagged his tail at me and ate from his dish!  Amazing progress!  We've identified a few things we're working on this week...first and foremost is just getting used to humans, but after that helping him be comfortable with a leash, and coming when called...we're hoping that when we bring him on Saturday he's used to the leash enough to show people his personality.  


We do use a crate with him, but he's out when we're here and so far no accidents.  I'm thinking he may be house trained, but we'll see what happens when he starts feeling at home!  

His adoption fee is $200 and covers the cost of the dog's spay or neuter, vaccines, preventative medications, microchip and 30 day free trial pet insurance.
