Sebastian Dachshund Vancouver, BC

Sebastian is a mini Dachshund around 3 years old.  In May 2012 he was hit by a car.  His owners took him to the vet, but decided they could not afford the surgery to fix his back.


Because is has been 6 months since the original injury, Sebastian is no longer a good surgical candidate for his herniated disc.  Instead he will use a wheelchair to get around outside on his walks.  He likes to run in the grass without the wheels though!!


He gets around really well, wears a belly band in the house with a protection bag on his lower end or socks to prevent him from getting sores on his feet from dragging.


He is a super super super sweet, loving, affectionate little man, who needs a home who will NEVER get angry at him for having accidents in the house, because he is now incontinent from the accident.  It is evident that he has been reprimanded harshly in the past as he cowers and whines in fear at loud voices and stern correction, he is also handshy.


All he needs is unconditional love - for the rest of his life... he listens very well, and his recall is excellent.  All he wants is a warm lap to cuddle in as often as he can.  He just LOVES cuddling!!


He is good with dogs - in moderation.  If he feels overwhelmed by too many dogs at one time, he panics and tries to protect himself.  It is possible that the larger dogs at his previous home bullied him.  He needs a home with no stairs - or someone who is always willing to carry him out to the yard.


He does use his legs to stand and eat, and uses his legs ever so slightly to walk. He is so deserving of love, care, comfort.  He is one of the sweetest little dudes I have ever met!


He is neutered, vaccinated and comes with his very own doggie wheels.


An adoption application and home visit is mandatory.
