Meet CEDAR *Video!*

CEDAR NOW HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING!

Cedar is an absolutely gorgeous female border collie or border collie mix, who was found wandering in a sparsely populated area in the mountains of Idaho. All efforts to find her owners failed, which is hard to believe because she is just a little doll. And by little, we mean little. Cedar is an adult at about one year of age, but weighs only 25 pounds and is about 18-18.5" at the shoulder.

While she's still a little shy when she first meets people, she quickly gains confidence and is a real charmer. Cedar has not done any inappropriate chewing in her foster home. She rides well in the car either in or out of a crate, is content to eat her meals in her crate, and is working on her housetraining. This little girl is excellent on leash--you'd hardly know there was a dog on the other end. She was also great for her bath, which is good because her long coat requires some grooming.

Cedar has a medium energy level, really enjoys playing with dogs, and also settles down very well in the house. She's been good with the cats in her foster home, although we've been told she will chase cats if they run.

Cedar is a bit of an alpha female, although she's not nasty about it. So she would probably do best in a home with a male dog or as an only child. She is all-in-all a very well-adjusted little girl considering her circumstances, however as with many border collies, Cedar is sound sensitive to fireworks and gunfire so must be kept indoors or on leash in these instances. Cedar is very smart and very athletic, and enjoys a good game of tug. She will be a blast to train. She is both food and toy motivated. She also has the cutest and most unusual cowlick on her forehead!

If you are interested in possibly adopting Cedar, please complete the online application here.  In addition, you will be asked to complete a more detailed application for the Idaho Domestic Animal Welfare Group.  You must be willing to travel to southwestern Idaho to meet Cedar.

Contact Joan at 208-283-9513 or email findadog@hotmail.com for more info.  Cedar's adoption fee is $150 which includes neuter, vaccinations, microchip, collar and ID tag.
