Monkey Papillon & Chihuahua Mix Chicago, IL

Monkey is an adorable, happy, sweet, playful and fun, one-year-old, ten-pound, male, tri-color Papillion/Long-Haired Chihuahua-mix looking for a loving guardian. Monkey gets along with other dogs but is a bit of a cat chaser. He’s crate-trained and doing well with his housebreaking. He just loves people once he gets to know them. He can be a little shy at first, especially with men. He is great on leash, loves car rides and has adjusted well to being buckled into a car seat. Monkey is still young and has had no formal training, so he can get rambunctious at times. He needs to go through some formal training to teach him some manners. He can be mouthy and has some resource guarding issues. He can also get stressed in unfamiliar situations or with unfamiliar people. He needs an experienced dog-lover to train him and manage his behavior to give him ample opportunities for success. Monkey has learned how to sit, is very food-motivated, and is eager to please, which will help him in his training. Once he’s had a few minutes to get to know you, his tail gets wagging and he’s full of kisses.
