Otto Domestic Short Hair Columbus, OH

Hello.I am called Otto. I'd like a home again; I had one once, but somehow I ended up here at Cat Welfare for reasons I can not determine. I was abandoned here at the door in mid July 2012. Beats me what happened or why the people I thought were mine decided to boot me out of the house. I am a five year old declawed black male. I am already neutered and I have a microchip and all my shots.

When I arrived here, I was not a happy cat. I was, in a word, angry; because I did not like being forced to live a cage. Then one day, one of the wise staffers here at Cat Welfare decided to move me to another area of the shelter. They put me in a room all to myself and I was transformed! I became much more enjoyable to be with and I mellowed out like a very good wine. I am a more pleasant cat these days. I love visitors and more than anything, I love to be held and petted; though with some reservation for I will sometimes snap at people who are innocently paying attention to me. It's only because I have some sensitivity when being petted on my lower back and legs. Even so, I am usually a pleasant fellow and I am very affectionate, too.

When I was confined to the cage, I was so angry that I stopped grooming myself. My hair became very matted on my back and hind legs. I have resumed caring for my fur (with the help of some staffers and volunteers at times) I am looking much better. I LOVE to be brushed!
