Penny Terrier & Chesapeake Bay Retriever Mix White Heath, IL

Hi! I'm Penny and I'm looking for a loving forever home. I came from a high kill shelter in KY. I was there with my babies and there were so many doggies that there was no room.  I heard the people saying we were going to be GASSED. I was so scared. But then, a nice lady came to the shelter and saw us and was told that we were going to be killed that afternoon and she couldn't bear to leave us. So she brought me and my babies to her rescue and said she would be our rescue mom. My babies found homes, but I haven't found the right family yet.  I'm about 2 years old and have all my shots and am microchipped and spayed. I'm also housetrained and cratetrained and walk well on a leash. I don't even jump. I'm a really well-behaved girl.


I'm a REALLY sweet girl and absolutely wonderful with dogs and kids.   Sometimes I chase cats... oops.  But I'm fine with small dogs and puppies.  In fact, when new dogs come into the rescue and have to mix in with other new dogs, my rescue mom always includes me in the mix.  I am very intuitive and always know when things are getting tense.  I dispell the tension by playing and kissing the other dogs! :)


I'm special because I have a small deformity called a cleft lip.  I am missing part of my upper lip and nose. But don't worry, this doesn't interfere in any way with my eating or playing or anything else.
