We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Foxy is an adorable little lab/terrier mix who weighs in at 34 pounds. She adores all the people she meets and is very good with young kids. Foxy recently had her last litter of puppies--9 healthy little pups who are also looking for homes. Foxy is happy to be done with that and is now spayed and looking for her own home. She just wants to be next to her person and cuddle up to whoever will pet her. Foxy sleeps right through the night either in a crate or tucked in with one of the kids. She is just wonderful with young children--check out the toddler she is kissing in the photo above. Foxy is house trained when let out on a schedule and is crate trained. She gets along with dogs of all sizes and doesn't seem to mind cats either. Foxy does require a fenced yard only because she is a little shy about doing her business while on a leash. Foxy will be very devoted to her new family and would love to have someone around much of the time. She is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. Her $300 adoption fee is to cover her spay, heartworm test and pill, shots, worming, flea/tick prevention and HomeAgain microchip.
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
