Fred is 14-years-old, deaf and, for the first time in his life, homeless. He is looking for a home to live out his senior years.

All dogs are held for a minimum of 72 hours in hopes that their owner will claim them. Before they are put up for adoption, all dogs are tested for heartworms (unless they are too young), vaccinated with the distemper/parvo complex, and kennel cough, treated for fleas and dewormed. While here in the shelter, volunteers walk and work with the dogs to help socialize them and for exercise.  Their temperments are observed so that we can hopefully make a successful match when a family comes to adopt them. </p><p>We also monitor how clean them keep their kennel, if they are chewers and how they react to other dogs so that we can give potential adopters the most information possible.</p><p>Starting next spring we plan to have an area outside where we can work individually with...
