JACK NEEDS A LOVING, FOREVER FAMILY!!!!

Name: Jack   Breed: Beagle Mix

Approximate Age: 1 1/2 years

Approximate Weight: 22 pounds

Currently Living at: Foster!

Meet Jack - an adorable, beagle mix who is approximately 1-2 years of age and weighs in at 22 pounds.  Poor Jack had a rough start in life.  He spent most of his time tied to a tree outside.  When the animal warden came to rescue him, he showered her with kisses; then he greeted shelter staff with a whole body wiggle to let them know that he was happy to be given a chance at a better life.  He has been a good friend to the dogs that he has encountered.  He has also done well with the children and adults he has met at adoption events.  He is a little overwhelmed and timid at the larger events, but he is very sweet and loving in settings where he feels comfortable.  Since Jack is a bit timid when he first meets someone, he needs to go to a home that has another dog to help him to comfortably adjust.  Jack has not been observed around cats yet, but we can have him tested if you need us to do so.

Jack has the sweetest little face and soft brown eyes.  Why his prevous owners wouldn't shower him with attention and affection is hard to fathom.  However, we know that somewhere out there is the perfect family for Jack - one willing to give him lots of exercise with daily walks and play time, as well as lavish him with the attention and affection he so deserves. He will return all the love and affection shown to him with a devotion hard to match.

Jack has tested positive for heartworm and has undergone treatment on 9/5/12 and 9/6/12.  He should be back to good health soon, though his acitivity level needs to be curtailed for 4-6 weeks after the treatment.

Like most shelter dogs, Jack may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $380, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Patty at patricia.myers5@gmail.com.!
