Meet Joey

Hey Joey Here,

W

ell thanks to Brookline Lab Rescue I was saved from a shelter. I came into the shelter as a stray and was there for about 30 days. Because I was not adopted they no longer had the space to keep me so thank god Brookline came and picked me up otherwise I might not be here to write this story. So here goes!!I am believed to be between 2-3 years old I am very skinny at the moment but we are working on getting my weight up to normal. Right now I weigh about 47 lbs. I am a smaller lab with a white chest. Foster mom says I am a very good boy. I am easily corrected but I dont do that much wrong so its no big deal. I love to snuggle!!! Wouldnt you if you were stuck in a cage all that time? I listen very well too. I know sit, paw and sometimes stay but we are working on that. I walk ok on the leash. I dont pull so much but I never walked on a leash before or at least in a long time so I am not quite sure what to do. I have had no accidents in the house ever and I am currently being crated during the day for about 4 hours at a time and I do cry and first but that’s because it reminds of where I came from. I do settle down eventually and take lots of naps. I love food!! I will eat just about anything in my sight but foster mom says thats because I didnt get to each much when I was all alone in the world. I am very good in the car.

I am currently living with two other dogs and I get along just fine with them. I do not know how to read their signals just yet but I am learning. I also live with a cat. I will chase her when given the opportunity so foster mom is not sure just yet if I should go to a home with cats. Its a wait and see kinda thing you know? I can jump baby gates so if you think that will keep me confined think again. I can jump like a deer but only when food is on the other side. I live in a house with a fenced in yard and have not tried to get out at all. I like to play ball but need someone to teach me that I need to bring it back. Oh yeah another positive is that I am not much of a barker. I will bark when someone comes to the door but that’s about it. I have a beautiful shiny black coat and brown eyes that will melt your heart. So all these positive attributes that I have must want you to adopt me so keep checking my blog to see how I am doing and consider making me a part of your family.
