This is Legion - a hunky labby boy who landed in a rural SC high-kill shelter. His owners were moving and decided that Legion didn't need to go with them to their new home. He came to the DC metro area to find a new home. Legion was soon adopted, but his new environment wasn’t a good match for him. Once again, Legion is looking for a place to call home.

Legion is loving, gentle, and very protective of his person or family and his home. If he knows them, he is great with people and children. Legion is calm and relaxed when alone with his family. But he needs to be properly introduced to strangers. He would do best in a quiet home where there were few visitors and only older, dog-savvy children. He loves to chew bones and will happily retrieve a ball.

Currently, he lives peacefully with another dog. However, he has some leash reaction issues. He needs more socialization and needs to be properly introduced in order to get along with other dogs. He is a very active boy who needs daily exercise off-leash. Legion loves to run, play, and be outside. His ideal home would have a large yard.

This is a very smart boy who learns quickly. Legion has been working on basic obedience training. He already knows the commands - Sit, Down, Come, Heel, and Stay. Since he reacts negatively to some children, other dogs, bikes, helmets, runners, baths, etc., Legion will need more training to desensitize him and correct his socialization and leash reaction issues. He is not food protective and has a very gentle mouth when taking food from a hand.

This handsome fella just wants a person or family who has the time and patience to love and train an active young guy like him. Can you give Legion a loving forever home? The adoption fee for this dog is $275, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. Our adult animal fees range and are based on: fees we pay to shelters, vetting costs, transport costs, and boarding costs. Some animals cost more than others to rescue, so that is why our fees range from $275-$350.
