Roxie Pit Bull Terrier Normal, IL

Roxie is a 1 1/2 year old, female, chocolate and white American Pit Bull Terrier. She has a warm, sweet and calm temperament and she weighs about 45 pounds. Roxie and her pups were saved from a kill facility by a good Samaritan. Roxie has finished raising her pups and is now ready to find her forever home. Roxie's foster mom said this of her: "She is extremely loving and sweet with people, but she may do best in a home without cats as she likes to play with them (she doesn't hurt them, but may occasionally chase). Roxie takes awhile to adjust to new dogs.  She loves to chew on nylabones but doesn't chew anything else except for the occasional sock she finds on the floor. She loves to spend time outside. Roxie has an comical ritual with her milkbones which entails dropping it on the floor and writhing around on it then picking it up and tearing around the house, repeating the process several times before she eats it! . She is great with all the people she has met. LOVE this dog!!" Roxie is a wonderful dog and will make a delightful companion, however, she does not show well at our adoption events. If you would like to meet her in her foster home (that would be a truer picture of  Roxie's personality) we would encourage you to do just that. Roxie is housetrained, has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and fecal checked, dewormed, and is on flea /tick and heartworm preventatives.
