5/18 New video of Sherry sitting for treats. http://youtu.be/wNPdCPfRUCk

4/21 Although Sherry must be an only dog, she is very gentle with people. Please do not mistake the fact that she must be an only dog with meaning that she is not a nice dog. She is very unassuming & does not need constant attention. She is happy just being in the same room with people and loves to chill out. She has been with her foster family since December & has been a great guest.

3/4 update: Sherry is terrific when no other dogs are around! We had her in the house last night (with our dogs put up) & she did well with the cats. She just wants to chill out. She spent the night in the extra bedroom & was quiet as a mouse.

2/22 update: New video at http://youtu.be/5iQqLfZ7VMM  - Not a great angle, but wanted to show what a happy girl she is (tail always wagging) & how easy she is to walk.

1/23 update from foster: Sherry is a sweet low maintenance girl who needs to be the only dog in the home. She is great on leash & loves nothing more than to go for her daily walk. Her tail wags the entire time! If she sees a strange dog, she will not react unless the dog comes at her & then she makes it obvious that she does not want to be friends. A trainer has viewed a video of Sherry’s reaction & stated that it appears to be fear aggression. Unfortunately the foster home does not have access to a local trainer & does not have the time/skill to correct this problem. Sherry is perfectly content to lay beside of you while you watch tv or read a book. She will occasionally lay her head in your lap or if able, place her head on your shoulder. She does great with the teenager in the home & loves to give him kisses. She does know to sit & is a smart girl that learns quickly. She is food motivated & really enjoys her stuffed Kongs. She has only been around cats while on leash or on the opposite side of the fence, but she has shown no interest in them. She has a doggie door to access the outside that is closed at night & reopened in the morning. She has not had any accidents during the night or day. She grooms herself well & is not the type of dog that rolls in the dirt. She spends most of her time chilling on the love seat. She has numerous blankets & has never chewed on them or the couch :) She is a quiet non-destructive dog. If you have any questions about Sherry, please do not hesitate to ask. 1/4: Herniated belly button vet checked today.  Does not need surgery.

1/3 update from foster: Love her! She is an easy fit into any home as long as she is the only dog. She is very low maintenance. When you first go out to see her, she will be excited & wiggly, but after a couple of minutes, she will put her head in your lap & relax. Most of the time she is napping on the love seat & will get down & stretch when we come in. I have been going out there & reading & she is good with that; not the type of dog who has to have constant attention. She is not a chewer at all, not even with toys. Not a barker.  Really sweet, she just wants to be the only dog in her adoptive home.  Foster says she does ok if she meets strange dogs on walks, so it's manageable as long as whoever's walking her is aware.  If leash walked with another dog from her foster home, she will growl at him during the walk.

12/17 update from foster: She does not look very happy in the pics with Santa, but I promise her tail was wagging :) She is house-trained, quiet, loving & does GREAT on leash. She is pretty low energy & does not have much interest in toys (yet anyways). She spends most of her time lounging on the love seat. I love it when she does the crawling thing (check out the video). With the exception of not wanting to be around other dogs, she is the perfect girl!  Sherry would do best as an only dog, or if someone wants to adopt two, she gets along with her sister, Charlotte.  We don't know if her dog-to-dog interactions will improve with time.  She spent months in the pound and has only been in foster care for about a week.  If we start to see this changing after she's settled in some, we'll update her bio.

12/10:  placed with foster

12/6: Spayed and heartworm negative.

11/11 update: Charlotte and Sherry are long timers at the Pound. They have been there since August 4th. We had noticed a little growling when they were in close quarters with other dogs, such as the Pound office. Now, they have had a young pen-mate for several weeks and are doing fine. He is young and relatively annoying in human terms, and yet they tolerate him very well. Charlotte and Sherry are very happy and active. They especially enjoy getting out of the Pen to run and play together. They both also love people! I believe they would do okay if separated, but they also enjoy being with each other very much.

11/10 update: I know we had the issue before with Sherry and Charlotte growling at other dogs in small spaces such as the Pound office. Just wanted to let you know that London has been in the pen with them for several weeks now with no problem. He even tries to play with them.

11/10: Sherry has been fully sponsored for rescue!

10/25: Sherry has been sponsored for $85 for rescue!

9/13: Took Twila out of pen on a leash with Charlotte & Sherry one at a time and they all did well. Charlotte and Sherry still growl when they get in a small room with another dog, but it's probably not a big deal. They do fine with them outside in the open. It's really hard to tell what's going on in the limited time and circumstances at the Pound.

9/12: Sherry was brought to the Pound on 8-4-12 along with another dog that appears to be her sibling. They were said to be strays. Sherry probably weighs around 50 lbs., and looks to be 3-4 years old. Both Sherry and her sister walk great on a leash, and they both love people! At the Pound, they have only been in a pen together, but not with other dogs. They seem to be defensive with other dogs when they feel like they are cornered, but not so much when they are out in the open. Might just be stress from being in the pound. Although the two siblings seem to be attached to each other, they don't seem to be stressed when separated. They also love people, so we feel like they would do okay if separated.

8/4/12: Sherry and another dog were brought to the Pound and said to be strays.  The two dogs look like they are probably siblings.  Sherry has some flea dermatitis, and was dipped 8/5.  She is guessed to weigh around  50 lbs.  Although they are attached to each other, the also love people, and seem like they would do okay if separated.  Sherry walks great on a leash and is a very sweet, loving dog ready for a new home!
