Meet Wolfie- Needs Foster

We know Wolfie is not a great pyr, but he is big and fluffy and such a nice boy, we knew we had to save him from our local shelter. We believe he is a Newfoundland/ Border Collie mix, but not sure what he is - only Wolfie knows!   He 6 years old and is in search of a new home due to his adopter's busy travel schedule and not having enough time to spend with him.   He was adopted from the shelter as a pup, and then passed among family members for 5 years. He was surrendered a year ago due to his original family moving. He is friendly and well behaved, gets along well with most other dogs , and likes all people. He likes being petted and groomed, and enjoys any attention he can get. He is protective of his home and is proud to defend it against the trash collectors and delivery trucks.  He has many characteristics of a border collie in his mannerisms and activity level. Wolfie would do best in a home with a solid fenced yard rather than chain link, he can get protective if other dogs are on the opposite side.  He enjoys protecting his home and is happy to run off the UPS driver and Mail Delivery Person. Wolfie loves to snuggle and is eager to please too.  He is very intelligent and learns quickly.   He would love a home where someone jogs or runs and will take him along, he has a lot of energy!  He would enjoy a home with a person who likes to walk too.      Wolfie will be placed as an inside pet with outside privileges to a secure visibly fenced yard. He chases cats, so a home without cats would be best for him.  We recommend obedience training for all newly adopted dogs, to help you create a special bond with you and your new friend, and so you have a well behaved canine. Adopters must be over 25, own their own home and all children in household must be over 5 years old.  If you are interested in giving Wolfie a foster or a forever home, please go to our website, www.igpr.org and complete the application.
Adoption fee is $200
